A practical wash sequence that removes road film while reducing unnecessary contact with the paint.

Before you begin

A safe contact wash begins before the mitt touches the paint. Work in shade, let hot panels cool and rinse loose material from wheel arches, lower doors and sills.

The right approach

Apply a suitable pre-wash from the lower panels upward so you can see where coverage is complete. Allow it to dwell without drying, then rinse thoroughly before preparing the contact wash.

REJDI TIP

Consistency beats force. Use clean tools, controlled product amounts and enough light to see what the surface is telling you.

Final checks

Keep shampoo solution in one bucket and clean rinse water in the other. Wash from the cleanest upper panels downward, checking and rinsing the mitt often. Finish with a free-flowing rinse and dry using clean microfiber with minimal pressure.

Quick checklist

  • Work on a cool, stable surface
  • Keep clean and used tools separate
  • Test first when material compatibility is uncertain
  • Read the manufacturer label before use
